LIGHTWEIGHT
Steel roofing can range in thickness between
.018 inches and .030 inches, making it much lighter than conventional roofing.
ATTRACTIVE
Steel roofing is available in an assortment of shapes, colors
and styles which resemble standard architectural roofing materials including tile, slate,
asphalt shingles -- even cedar shakes.
- Steel roofing reduces the weight of your roof. It weighs
between 1/3 and 1/2 as much as asphalt shingles, and much less than tile or slate.
- Steel roofing is easy to install. It can usually be applied directly over most
old roofs in significantly less time, using standard building tools.
- Steel roofing is long-lasting. Long-life prepainted steel roofs can last 30 to 50
years without repair or replacement. Some of our roofing materials are guaranteed for 25
years.
- Steel roofing is strong enough to handle even the most damaging weather. It holds
up against powerful wind and hail. Steel roofing can actually shed snow, reducing the
weight on your roof in tough winter weather.
- Steel roofing enhances the energy efficiency of your home. Painted in light
colors, steel roofs reflect heat and sun away from your house, reducing cooling needs.
Darker colored steel roofs transfer heat faster after the sun goes down.
- Steel roofing is environmentally friendly. Like all steel products, steel roofing
is completely recyclable. And if installed over an existing asphalt roof, there are no
shingles or waste to take to a landfill.
