For Immediate Release WEIRTON, W.VA. – West Virginia Gov. Bob Wise and U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland, D-Ohio, will receive a status report today on Weirton Steel Corp. from company President and Chief Executive Officer John H. Walker. Walker will update the elected officials on Weirton Steel's recent restructuring program, industry consolidation and the effects of tariffs on steel imports and related trade issues. Wise and Strickland also will visit with Independent Steelworkers Union officials who will later accompany them to a plant gate to meet employees.
