WEIRTON, W.VA. – Weirton Steel Corp. has been named an associate member of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA). The association serves building systems manufacturers, metal roofing systems manufacturers and associate member suppliers. Its membership represents more than $2.6 billion in annual steel shipments.

"This alliance expands our opportunities to promote our steel in the residential construction market," said Michael Scott, vice president-commercial. "Furthermore, we’ll be able to network with other MBMA members, develop new ideas and explore additional value-added applications for our products."

The MBMA’s Associate Membership Program was developed to serve the metal building industry’s ancillary manufacturers and suppliers. It is open to companies that regularly supply raw materials or fabricated products to manufacturer members.

Associate members have the opportunity to influence the MBMA’s direction and activities through such efforts as the Associate Member Advisory Council, which is composed of members representing various product categories.
